Everything you do in life has an impact on the natural world. The first step towards saving endangered wildlife is being aware of what you can actually do.

What you can do now:


  • Multiply existing conservation efforts by engaging with everyone you know to promote participation in these urgent issues.

  • Be aware of the products you buy and how these products are link to and effect endangered wildlife and environments.

  • Meet the Animals Face to Face - Take your friends, family, and colleagues to a day at the zoo. The Heartlands staff will be glad to join you!

  • Create Awareness Raising Projects at local schools and community centres.

  • Use your creativity! Make arts and crafts, have auctions and donate the proceeds. See the Artists for Conservation Foundation (AFC) website for a nice example.

  • Become an “Online Cyber Activist” with various conservation organisations such as Greenpeace and The AWF Rapid Response Network

  • Sign conservation petitions and join campaigns. - The Heartlands Newsletter will help keep you informed about the latest campaigns.

  • Take Action from your own arm chair! Sign online petitions. All you have to do is add your name and click! - The ‘Stop the Clock on Extinction’ petition at Conservation International is a good example. - Plus many more at Care2.

  • Financially support existing conservation efforts.

  • Volunteer for conservation or make your next holiday an eco-trip.

  • Take to the streets! Tell everyone you meet about the plight of the Heartlands wild ambassadors and our ‘Inspire to Participate’ campaign.
